Studio MAI is an Amsterdam based studio with Italian roots created by Federico Violato. Devoted to functionality and simplicity, he makes use of his international experience and cultural heritage to create beautiful and simple objects & interiors.
Years of experience in the field of interior & product design led him to pursue his dream to realise things in his own way. Sense of aesthetic and clear approach to every assignment helps him to create beautiful, harmonious spaces and subtle, refined furniture accessories.
The studio works between Amsterdam and Milan, places that belong to Federico’s heart since a very long time.
PRODUCT DESIGN
The studio works with local craftsmen, mainly in Italy, Poland and in the Netherlands.
Each design is minimal in the form and enriched by the usage of natural materials and attention to detail. Every part of the production is done by hand, which makes each piece unique and special.
The goal of Studio MAI is to reduce the impact of mass production on our planet by using local resources, mostly from wood & marble leftovers.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Due to rising apartment prices, we are increasingly opting for more limited spaces.
As minimalist with eye for detail, Studio MAI design smart solutions for compact homes. It guarantees that the space will be used in the most efficient way and will serve users according to their needs. Studio works closely with the client to make their dream home come to life, no matter the size. The smaller the project, the more challenge & fun it is to make it work.
